Notes: A New England-Style Double IPA brewed and dry-hopped with Galaxy, Ella, and Amarillo. This beer boasts bold flavors of passionfruit and mango, alongside a creamy mouthfeel and velvety finish. Delightfully smooth for its ABV!

Hazy gold. Dense initial head which takes a long time to settle. The lacing starts large and dwindles as I finish the beer.

Weedy hop aroma. I don't pick up on any mango or sweet citrus.

The start of this beer is softer than the smell implies. The body is chewy with moderate carbonation. The finish turns bitter but less of a kick than the smell. The aftertaste actually lasts in a balanced way.

I believe it was a ruzdud box that this came in, thanks again for that wrasslin moves trade.

Pours a light amber dark honey kind of color, head wasn't much for retention, settled into a light 1/4" off white head. Untappd says there is Amarillo hops in here, but my can only claims Ella & Galaxy. Nose was pretty light hop wise, don't think there was quite the quantity of hops I was hoping for. Light notes of lemongrass, pine, pineapple. Wanted moar.

Taste took on some Citra like notes of orange, tangerine, papaya, peach. Again, it was all pretty light, there was a bit of an alcohol sting in the mouth feel. I've been so spoiled the last few years with so many dipa/tripas that drink so effortlessly, it was kind of a snack pack to reality of what that abv usually tastes like. The commercial tug job about a velvety finish seems overplayed. The bitterness was slightly subdued.

Twas a decent beer, but nothing to write home about.

A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of tropical fruits. Taste is of mango, peaches, oranges, some malts, mild bitterness for the style. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

Great golden color with some cloudiness, smell is on point for the style, piney and dank. Taste is phenomenal, citrus and tropical flavors dominate. Does not taste like 8.5% Imperial IPA more like a 5.7% IPA, but don't worry the booze is all there. Slightly astringent, but not overwhelming. Overall, this is a really good beer, I enjoy how easy it is to drink.

Canned 8/01/18
Pours an aggressive large foamy 2 finger head that fades slowly, nice soapy lacing, a hazy like looking golden honey color

Nose brings hops, a bit of juicy tropical, pineapple, citrus, some sweet malt, candied tropical/citrus fruit marmalade like

Taste was more candied fruit, sweet candy malt with a hint of warming booze, big pineapple, tropical, some citrus, little pithy, mild to fair bitterness that ramps as it goes, touch apple pear like tree fruit in there, and maybe a little bubblegum, hops getting a touch spicy on the drier finish, with a bit more warming alcohol

Mouth is med bod, nice carb, hint of warming booze

Overall not bad, fairly enjoyable, hops are a bit muted on the nose but nice on the taste, good malt balance, not quite a NEIPA but a bit of softness and less bitterness than typical IPA

2021: Look: cloudy honey color with a 4F head in a Spiegelau IPA glass. Good head retention.

Aroma: melon, pine,

Not too carbonated.

Rich taste: fruit, citrus, melon, The taste broadens with warming.

Excellent dry hoppy finish.

Another excellent Lamplighter beer with full flavors. This hop combo seems dryer more melon and pinethan usual.

Can dated 08/01/18.

Might be my first Ella hopped beer, will have to check. Nose had competing citrus and floral aspects, pleasant but nothing special. Taste brought more notable Galaxy aspects, including subtle bubblegum. Still offset by the citrus and floral, but an enjoyable amount of Galaxy influence for my palate and preferences. Finishes quite juice-like, minimal bitterness and a hint of acidity and astringency. Low-medium bodied with lower carbonation, creamy on the tongue, slick finish. Definitely enjoyed several aspects of this beer, wouldn't seek it out but would gladly have again.
