Packaged on 8/15/23
L - poured near dark amber with a thin white head which dissipated quickly. No lacing.
S - smelled like apple cider, to a degree, which I thought was a bit odd.
T - deep bready malt with caramel aftertaste.
F- medium mouthfeel and a bit tingly on the tongue.
O - not sure what to make of this. Perhaps the smell threw me off, but not bad overall.

Attended the Lamptoberfest festivities at their brewery and had a blast drinking this beer. Only ever known them for their IPAs, but this was a treat. Immediately, this lighter bodied, light brown Marzen appeared glistened in my stein, and had such a frothy white head that lingered. A malty aroma is apparent as you sip and a nice toasted bread taste hits your tastebuds on the initial sip. I then get some real malty sweetness, maybe even maple syrup, but a good toastiness to it. A touch of caramel and a dry clean finish. Such a smooth hearty lager. Like drinking a knit sweater.

Gold to amber color. Nearly clear. Light head which settles quickly to rim bubbles. A few slippery spots for temporary lace.

Immediately apparent on the opening of the can is the toasted malt aroma. A touch bit more darker "toast" than most Märzens.

Creamy flavor and body. Lots of caramel notes behind the bready toasted flavor. Light hop spice in the swallow. I also get some alcohol warmth in the finish. Shorter aftertaste.

Canned 9/11/18
Pours a decent foamy fizzy 1 finger head fades semi quickly, decent retention, little lacing, clear orange honey color

Nose big straw malt, doughy toasted malt, bit of fruity lager, hint grassy hop, sweet malt little cereal

Taste mild sweetness, toasted grain, cereal malt, little doughy, mild grassy hop, little caramel like note, fair bitterness, drier finish

Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft lager, decent carb

Overall not bad, fairly well done Oktoberfest for an American brewery, not quite as layered and complex as the German ones but nice

Pours a beautifully clear caramel-amber color with a thin finger of light tan head. Decent effervescence and thick rings of lacing.

Dark bread and toasted caramel malt in the aroma. Maybe even a hint of roasted nuts behind.

The taste follows the nose. It’s malt-forward Marzen-substyle, but more bready, toasty and nutty than sweet. It almost has a dry finish.

Medium bodied with low carbonation and easy-drinking smoothness in the feel.

I generally don’t like this “big” of a malt profile in an Oktoberfest; keep it refined and drinkable, not in-your-face. But for whatever reason, this is sort of working for me today. I’m enjoying it and would purchase again. 9/11/18 canned on date.
