Professor Lupulin is a juicy New England-style IPA and our first brew featuring Cryo Citra. Extracted from whole leaf Citra hops, this lupulin powder is chock-full of resins and citrus-forward aromatic oils, providing maximum flavor while drastically reducing brewing waste. The resulting ale leads with a bouquet of ripe melon and citrus zest, complemented by a sweetly malty body and a Sirius-ly snappy finish. Best enjoyed under a full moon

Not a huge Harry Potter fan, but my girlfriend explained the reference to me and I indeed chuckled. However, focusing on the beer, this is wonderful. To start the beer has a nice slight orange hazy with a frothy head. This beer is all about citrus, but most notably I get is lemon. This is great in a world dominated by OJ bombs. A nice lemony zesty aftertaste too with maybe some mango/melon. BA doesn't appear to have updated to the most recent version of this beer, but the abv is 5.8% now. However no matter, anything under a 6 for a NEIPA is great and doesn't leave you full of orange sludge. I was actually able to reach for another beer. Great for a session.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a slightly hazy orangish with thick white head that is leaving some nice lace. The scent had wonderful tropical fruit hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet tropical fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Really smooth, maybe a hint of mango in the finish. Hoppiness is under control. Really enjoyable...could drink every day

Can. I have not been a huge fan of Lamplighter’s offerings. I think this is probably my favorite, though. Hazy, burnt, dull orange. Filmy head. Soft nose but smells like it should. Hits the right notes. Flavor is pretty tasty. A little tepid. Expensive but still, probably my favorite from them.

Great label art and copy with two Harry Potter references. I’m not so familiar with lupulin powder, but this beer is nice. Hazy golden color, with nice head that’s reduced to a persistent white cap. The nose is as described: melon and sweet citrus. Thus follows the flavor, a bit on the sweet side for me, but still pleasant. The finish is long, and the bitter and the sweet battle it out ‘til the (bitter) end... (Canned 11/14; purchased at Whole Foods River Street Cambridge)
