Pours a medium-smaller fizzy tan head that fades quickly, low retention, no lacing but good legs, dark hazy molasses brown color, a more aggressive pour brings a nice medium sized head with lower but some retention
Nose big sweet brownish malts, toasted grainy with loads of caramel, dark candi sugar, plenty of dark fruits, big fig, date, raisin, mild perfumey alcohol and phenol notes, lots of port wine as well, dark red and sweet wine
Taste more sweet candy malts, plenty of dark Belgian candi sugar and caramel, molasses and rum like flavors, some perfumey alcohol but not too much, on the smoother side but a bit warm as it warms, some port, dark red sweet wine but less than the nose, but plenty of dark fruits again, fig, date, candied brandy soaked raisin, a touch of vanilla, touch of bitterness, sweet candy syrupy flavors, and lots of toasted reddish malts, a little apple pear esters to go with the dark fruits, a bit sticky sweet finish, a bit more alcohol, some deep red port wine and dark candi sugar
Mouth is fuller bod, a bit syrupy, some warming slight tingly alcohol but mostly smooth, a bit lighter carb
Overall this was quite enjoyable, hits all the right points of a good quad, Belgian candi sugar, caramelizations, lots of dark fruits and other fruity esters, mostly smooth alcohol, but also some nice port wine to balance, but I would have liked a bit more on the taste

Poured from a bottle, fresh from the brewery a couple weeks ago. Label says Belgian quad aged in port barrels.
Look is ok, cloudy ruby brown with a tan head that disappears.
Smells and tastes great. Lots of dark fruit, caramel, red wine character.
Good feel, smooth and a little slick, but not cloying sweet. Noticeable alcohol, wine-like.
Overall a very nice beer, glad I picked it up!
