Black Pearl is an oyster stout brewed with our friends at Medusa Brewing Co. (Hudson, MA) and Island Creek Oysters (Duxbury, MA).
Hints of brine brighten decadent notes of espresso and cacao, resulting in a velvety rich body chock full of bittersweet flavor.

Poured a deep chocolate brown with a 2F head in a Stone Imperial pint glass.
Vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Very rich, but dissipates with time.
MF: body is a bit thin. I was expecting a creamier body.
Taste: chocolate, coffee.
I am wondering if this beer is better closer to the canning date. It’s a stout, so there is no issue as in an IPA.
However, the body was a bit thin, and I was looking for a slightly richer flavor.

Poured from the can, fresh from the brewery. It's an oyster stout, not sure if they used whole oysters or what.
Good look, black brown with a dark tan head that recedes.
Smells dark and mild, roasted grains and earthy hops.
Tastes great, lots of dark chocolate, black coffee and roasted malt, and earthy mineral character. Rich in typical stout flavor profile, but there's definitely a unique quality to it.
Feels full and smooth, fine yet sharp carbonation. Good balance of flavors and finishes bittersweet and slick.
Overall very nice. Glad I picked it up, definitely worth a try!

Pours black with a fairly dense creamy khaki light tan foam head. Smells like rich chocolate and roasted malts with a hint of salinity. The flavor is rich with dark chocolate notes, espresso coffee, roasted malts, a hint of brine and perhaps oyster shell, with subtle dry dark fruit notes and caramel lingering. Medium-full thick bodied, creamy smooth yet thirst quenching with moderate carbonation. Overall a delicious and really great oyster stout.
