Frida is a Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout brewed in collaboration with the Pink Boots Society, an organization celebrating and supporting women in craft beer. The addition of cacao nibs, cinnamon, vanilla bean, lactose, and a hint of cayenne brighten a roasty base ale, and two months of aging in bourbon and vanilla extract barrels provides additional complexity and boozy overtones, making for a diversely flavored and delicious pint. Who run the world?

NO canning date.
Pours a jet black color, opaque, with dark mocha colored frothy head with medium retention and a little lacing, mild legs
Nose loads of chocolate, creamy milk chocolate and chocolate milk, with a little cocoa and fudgey note, some light pepper in the background, and touch of caramel, dark malt but not overly roasty, little vanilla and mild cinnamon, a little bourbon comes through as it warms
Taste more cinnamon out front, with tons more vanilla and layers of chocolate, dark chocolate cocoa, creamy chocolate milk cocoa, mild biscuity cookie dough, little caramel, lactose and perhaps oats, creamy smooth vanilla ice cream, and a hint of pepper if any, no alcohol or pepper/cinnamon heat until very late on the back end, drier lactose like finish, not much bourbon either just a flash late
Mouth is med bod, creamy rich, medium-light carb, just a touch of alcohol warmth and pepper heat, feels a little thin overall though
Overall not bad, def wish the cinnamon and pepper were more dominant, esp the pepper, but base stout seems nice, overall enjoyable and not overpowering, good balance

On tap at the brewery. A "Mexican hot chocolate stout".
Looks a dark black brown with minimal head.
Smell and taste of dark roasted grains and milk chocolate. Some spice, chili or cinnamon maybe, but it's not very prominent.
Rich, full and creamy feel. Menu board did not say but the bartender confirmed it is made with lactose.
Overall a very tasty, nearly decadent, dessert beer!
