You Won’t is an American IPA hopped with Mosaic, Simcoe, two multi purpose hops balancing tropical fruit aromas with a distinctly herbal bouquet. A medium body promotes a firm backend bitterness, leaving the palate refreshed and thoroughly quenched. Keep cold and enjoy fresh.

16oz. can served in a willibecker. Pours a dull orange hue with a hazy clarity and a tight two finger, cream-colored head. Nose expresses citrus and pith. Fruity aromas without being overly juicy. Taste consistent with nose with the addition of some light ready malts across the flavor profile and a tiny burst of tangerine at the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a pleasant, even carbonation. Overall, solid and drinkable with a well-hidden ABV.

Canned 4/2/20
Pours a med-larger fluffy bubbly head with good retention, foamy lacing, hazy cloudy med-orange color, great for NEIPA, bad for American IPA
Nose is quite dank, tropical fruits, papaya, passion fruit, generic tropical, grapefruit, pretty dank, also a little of the dank green onion from the mosaic, light malt
Taste brings the earthy dank green onion out front, not terrible but def not pleasant, behind that the tropical fruits, mostly generic tropical, with some citrus and grapefruit like, maybe even kiwi?, fair doughy creamy base malt, lots of creamy base malts, pithy, a little chalky mineral, med to lighter bitterness, lighter up front and med on the back end, drier finish, spicy rindy hops lingering and a little dank piney oniony mosaic
Mouth is med bod, creamy and juicy like an NEIPA, med frothy carb
Overalll not a big fan, first of all this is more like NEIPA than regular IPA, lack of bitterness and creamy soft body with loads of juicy fruit brings that, also the haze, so not an IPA at all really, and the mosaic is bleh as usual, so even Lamplighter couldn't fix mosaic, again would be decent NEIPA but not "American IPA" that it claims on the can

A solid IPA, trading in the trendy juicy citrus for a more classic bitterness and hop bite instead. Tasty and well done.
A nice change of pace, I like it!

Neutral golden color with the mildest of hazes. Long lasting head with good blanketing lace.
Lots of weeds to the nose--dominating all other smells.
Biting bitterness from start to swallow. Decent body but with an equally higher carbonation level. Long, bitter aftertaste. One dimensional as a hop bomb delivery.

Slightly hazy amber with a quickly settling head. Nice aroma of herbal woody hops. Taste of grapefruit with a good bit of bitter herbs. Moderate carbonation and some bite in the fluid feel. Overall, a good American IPA.

Lamplighter seems somewhat erratic in its new beers. Some are great, others quite good, and some with mixed reviews.
Unfortunately, You Won’t is in the latter category.
Nice look: 3F head, light cloudy golden color.
Very floral aroma- almost weirdly earthy and floral. Very distinctive and not typical.
Medium MF.
The taste captures the weird earthy and citrus character. The brewery’s tasting notes suggest tamarind, Buddha’s Hand, and cloudberry which seems to come out the strongest. I’m not very familiar with these tastes, they are somewhat exotic for most of us.
Very good “ backend bitterness” as the can says.
I can’t believe this is a simcoe- mosaic blend, which is usually more straightforward fruity and earthy.
I’d recommend this more for a real change of pace. Not my favorite flavor profile. Perhaps the brewers are bored with brewing the “gotcha” citrus- tropical fruit tasting beers.
Perhaps this is analogous to a wedding musician having to play top 40, although he would much rather play Coltrane or Monk at the gig.
