Collaboration with Collective Arts Brewing
Insomniac is a kettle sour brewed with our friends at Joe Coffee Company (New York, NY) and Collective Arts Brewing (Hamilton, ON). Tangy, roasty, and smooth, this unique ale was fermented with lactose and a citrus-forward single-origin cold brew coffee sourced from Burundi. Keep cold and enjoy fresh!

A: The beer is murky brown in color and has lots of large particulates in suspension that are being churned up and around by a moderate to high amount of carbonation, making this look like a lava lamp. It poured with a quarter finger high beige colored head that has very good retention properties and hardly died down.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sourness are present in the nose along with citrusy hints of lime.
T: The taste follows the smell and is sour with fruity notes of limes and berries that seem to be a combination of the malts and coffee beans.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and slightly smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This makes for an interesting fruity sour ale but the coffee isn't all that noticeable so be forewarned if you were expecting a coffee beer.
