WordPlay is a Brown Ale with Ethiopian coffee blossom honey. Nutty, complex and smooth with a little zing of caffeine, this beer pays homage to the daily crossword puzzle, best solved alongside a cuppa or cold pint. Try it yourself! Puzzle designed by Taproom/Café regular Ross Trudeau.

Lighter brown color. Nearly clear. Pale beige head that provides rim bubbles but no lace.
Unusual metallic (iron/rust) initial smell. I need to work to tease out some raisin and sweet cherry, and fruit punch. Maybe some alcohol. The smell is nevertheless very subtle.
The taste is also fairly weak. The body is watery but the lower carbonation seems to provide mouthfeel balance. The flavor is off drier caramel and blackberry. There’s enough hop to balance the finish. Short aftertaste.
