375ml bottle - 2020 vintage

Pours hazy dark ruby amber red with a small beige light khaki colored foam head. Smells like rich maple, bourbon oak barrel, slight vanilla, roasted nuts, molasses, dark caramel, toffee, brown sugar, hints of chocolate, plum, raisin, dried cherry, fig, dates, dried fruit, with some earthy piney hops. Taste follows really rich and sweet with mapley oak bourbon barrel, slight vanilla, char, roasted nuts, molasses, dark caramel, toffee, brown sugar, hints of chocolate, plum, raisins, dried cherry, fig, dates, dried fruit, and some light earthy piney hops. Feels medium plus bodied, slick and smooth with low carbonation. Overall a real nice barleywine.

This is exceptional for such a young beer with this ABV (2020 and 12% respectively). Pours a reddish brown hue with a quickly dissipating brown head. Caramel, raisins, dried red fruit and alcohol on the nose. Taste is sweet raisin bread quickly followed by caramel and alcohol burn with a medium hop finish to it. I wouldn’t say the ABV is hidden, but it’s integrated well into the overall taste/flow to the beer. I would like to have this again sometime.

Barleywine aged in bourbon barrels.
Good strong flavors of caramelized malts and boozy bourbon. Enjoyable and not overpowering, very nice!

I've got another bottle cellaring in the cabinet, looking forward to drinking this again...
