Our interpretation of the traditional Czech style showcases dark, roasty malt character with luscious notes of caramel, rye toast, and roasted nuts. This midnight-colored Lager is exceptionally drinkable, balancing complex dark beer flavor with a crisp finish.

Brown color with light passing through the center. Clear. Modest head that settles to film and leaves minor spots and thinner streaks.

Clean, crisp aroma of brown bread. Light black olive. Faint alcohol.

Higher carbonation to the thinner body. Dry with the brown bread overtones. Light chocolate and lighter hop. Mild alcohol. Shorter aftertaste.

Can date smudged
Pours a frothy creamy off white 1 finger head with great retention, soapy lacing, clear but dark mahogany to ruby color

Nose dark roasted and toasted grain, little chocolate, coffee, rich malt, little caramel like almost toffee, very light herbal hop

Taste rich bready toasted malt, a little biscuity, nice dark malt mild roast and smooth coffee, little chocolate and rich bread crust, light caramel and toasted copper malt, mild sweetness, touch of herbal hop bitterness, dry mild crisp finish

Mouth is med bod, soft lager, med to a bit lighter fizzy carb

Overall quite nice, well done but more like a Dunkel, a bit less sweetness and more hop presence for a Czech style dark lager, but very tasty beer

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a clear dark amber with thick off white head that left a spotty lace. The scent had crisp malt notes with subtle schwarzbier flare. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle Munich malt presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

16 oz. can

Pours clear dark maroon amber red with a creamy khaki colored light tan foam head. Smells a bit roasty with mild smoke notes, toasted malts, nutty caramel, molasses, toffee, cola, chocolate, dried dark fruits, with woody earthy hop notes. Taste follows, roasty, almost smoky, dark toasted malts, caramel, molasses, toffee, subtle chocolate, roasted nuts, dried dark fruits, with some spice and earthy hop notes. Feels lighter medium bodied, smooth with crisp moderate carbonation. Overall a nice Czech-style dark lager.
