On draft at the Lamplighter CX taproom.
Looks great. Deep brown, I can barely see my fingers through it on a sunny day.
Smelling kinda oniony today. I had this beer a few months ago and didn't get the allium then. Anyway, I'm fine with it.
Taste: Definitely some onion, more as it warms. Mild roasty smoothness accompanied by a moderate amount of IPA bitterness.
Overall, it's a good beer if not a standout. Obviously if you are sensitive you might want to steer clear.

Dark brown where light only passes faintly along the edge. Moderate beige head which leaves ample spots and a few streaks.
There's darker chocolate and a touch of charcoal to the smell. Light hop.
The taste starts like a Schwartzbier but becomes more hoppy towards the swallow. Some smokiness. Thinner body with a lower carbonation level. The finish is similar to semisweet chocolate with white pepper added. Moderate length aftertaste.

Dark brown black, smells like beautiful roasty toasted malts, some coffee, chocolates, dark caramel, tropical citrusy fruits, with floral earthy resinous pine. Taste follows, dark, browned, roasty and toasty, burnt caramel, chocolate, bitter coffee, orange citrus, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, peach, mango, earthy resinous floral pine with restrained bitterness. Feels medium plus bodied, smooth with moderate carbonation. Overall a really great Black IPA.
