Canned 2024/07/22
Pours a foamy pinkish 2 finger head with moderate retention, semi hazy rosy pink beer
Nose starts a bit like witbier, creamy doughy wheat malt, a bit gristy grainy, some spice phenol notes, saison like yeast fruity esters, some pome fruit not sure if yeast esters or the prickly pear, little earthy musty fruit
Taste is different, some of the base wheat, doughy creamy wheat, a bit of earthy straw cereal, then earthy pome fruit, hint of like a watermelon, general fruit esters, a hint of spice, unique fruit taste, dry finish
Mouth is med to lighter bod, creamy wheat, higher small bubble prickly carb
Overall interesting but not one I would probably get again, very unique in flavors, but still got the wheat base at least, just not a big fan

The color is surprising—a raspberry red color. Hazy. Large, near-white head. Multiple spots and streaks on the glass as it subsides.
The smell is quite muted and doesn’t present anything I’d associate with the red color. It’s faint but I pickup some pear-like aromas.
Soda pop-like carbonation which matches the thin body. The taste is dry and not very wheaty. The finish has a berry flavor. The aftertaste, though, is short.

Can purchased from brewery 8/9/2024. Pours a rosy pink, generous foam that reduces to a thin ring, some minor lacing. Smells fruity, at this ABV no hint of alcohol. Taste is a citrus and melon. Pleasantly tart aftertaste. Very smooth and rich mouthfeel. Overall I was pleasantly surprised but this beer, not being certain what to expect from the prickly pear. Overall a pleasant and thist quenching beer, just the thing for a hot day.
