For a “golden” ale, the color is very dark—solidly amber! Crystal clear. Minor head that becomes only rim bubbles. No lacing.

Cinnamon and earl grey tea are the first smells I pick up. There’s also an unusual spice that reminds me of chamomile. Attractive if a bit un-beer-like.

The taste starts off like a light-colored ale but soon the chamomile and earl grey tea take over. In a word, spicy (but not at all peppery or hot). Easy to drink and quite unusual. Not beer-like but definitely worth a try.
