Got a growler from a local beer shop. Poured much darker than I thought, malty/caramel, very little hop character, missing the promised fruit. Might try a different offering from this upstart brewery, but maybe not in the IPA dept.

On tap at Bukowski's Cambridge ... a 14oz serving, must have been a pricing decision on that being other beers that are bigger are 16oz servings.

A lot darker than anticipated but I am down with being different. Excellent looking head. Smells sweet with some caramel and bready aromas, quick kiss of hop. Smooth with some body for a smaller brew, lots of caramel slickness. Trying to figure out why the brewer calls this an IPA, it reminds me of a Dark Mild or some sort of Strong Bitter. Hop character does not really show off much, the bigger body does not scream "session" either. A decent sip, just a bit confusing IMO as I expected a bit more hop character.

Label says 29 IBU, bottled a week ago 6/22/16. Dark caramel color with a nice white head that settles pretty quickly. Not much smell, malt and some hops. Taste is malty with some bitter hops (local Massachusetts hops - actually label says all ingredients are local). Medium body with modest carbonation and bitter aftertaste. Overall, a good beer but nothing special. At least I now have an example of what is possible with all local ingredients.
