Near black color -- no light passes. Small and brief head. No lace.
Rich darker malt with some definitive black patent malt notes. The smell is (perhaps) closer to a stout than a Dark Mild.
The flavor is dark chocolate with a notable ashen presence. The body is appropriately thin with a cask induced low carbonation level. Ashen finish, short aftertaste.
