Bottle #329/400. Poured into a snulip glass. It pours nearly ink black. The dark mocha head had good retention for the gravity. A big, fragrant nose featuring roasted malt, chocolate, nutty char, caramel, banana, and distinct bourbon. The taste is complex and bold. It’s bourbon-forward but not overly boozy. The underlying flavors of dark chocolate, caramel, Thai banana, coconut, and charred nuts are all distinct but complimentary. I like that it’s not overly sweet. And the adjuncts have held up well considering it was bottled almost a year ago. It is moderate in viscosity with low carbonation. And the 13.5% ABV is well-hidden. Overall, this is a very fine BA Imperial Stout. Considering the adjuncts used, Bond Brothers shows a very deft touch. I am impressed by this brewery.
