Dating from six centuries of brewing history, this is the legendary alchemy was brewed exclusively by Bavarian kings for nearly three centuries. Fermented with our special yeast strain in our classic open vessels, this traditional wheat beer is deep auburn in color with a cloudy appearance, a rich body accented by hints of almond and nuts and a refreshing finish. This Original version of “hefeweizen” is still brewed by a handful of small, independent breweries in Bavaria – such as ours – and is perfect to be enjoyed year-round.

I enjoyed this direct from the taps at the brauhaus.
Slightly hazy, gold straw. Big banana bubble gum nose, lots of clove and some spice. It’s their flagship for a reason. Well done.

Cedar springs Weiss, on tap, served in a hefe glass at speak ez 22oz $7.50
A-Classic golden yellow hazy body with moderate carb and 1-1/2 fingers off white head. awesome sticky rings of foam left on the glass.
S- Lots of banana clove and a little lemon.
T-As aroma suggests. Banana clove, light spicy grassy hops. On the sweeter side, without getting too much so.
M-Creamy and crisp at the same time.
O-Classic example of the style. Great brunch beer while watching the final EPL games of the season.

Classic Weissbier, just about perfect. Tastes and feels fantastic first swig to last (from cool to room temp). Easy to imagine you're drinking a top offering in Bavaria.

Nice Hefeweizen tried on tap at a local restaurant. Nice amber color with some thin mild white head and lingering lacing that quickly fades. Smells of yeast, clove, banana, some malt and grain. Tastes similarly, except there’s a fair amount of yeast in the finish. Smooth, mild, slightly creamy mouthfeel and good carbonation. Not really my style of beer but this was nice and fairly refreshing.

Enjoyed on draft at the source. My favorite beer of the night at Cedar Springs; often I find myself disappointed with medal-winning beers at GABF or elsewhere, due to differences in my own preference from BJCP guidelines, but this one nails a category I've got no beef with. Great banana esters and solid wheat notes, a touch of birch near the finish. Really good.
