Looks, smells, and tastes pretty much exactly like a standard Belgian tripel. If I hadn't known there was fruit in the beer I never would have suspected it.

at the tap room, into a tulip, pours a golden amber with 1 finger white head that subsides in a minute leaving spotty lacing. Serious nose of tart plums that gets even more tart on the tongue...though there is a sweet flesh of the fruit that kicks in toward the end. The plum is well played...it is supported nicely by some pale malts, but that's about it -- no depth or layers of flavors or phenols that one finds in the exemplars of the style. Mouthful is ok, but a little on the flat undercarbonated side...not too lively, just kind of sits on the tongue. Pretty light for the style, but then the abv is on the low side. All in all, this is good but not great...but the plum is quite memorable.
