Looks are deceiving with this one. As light colored as a Pilsner with almost no head, I was scared this would be a slight in flavor. Not much of a smell either. But the lingering fattyness of the mouthfeel is awesome, and the sweet slightly bitter taste exceeded expectations.

The beer was a diacetyl bomb. On the nose I could tell that some hop aroma was trying to make its way out but was overpowered by the buttery notes. All of the beers have had from Lakes and Legends have had this diacetyl flavor, maybe there is an infection. The carb was low almost to the point of being still. The beer was clear and that was about the only thing pleasant about it

Well, look at this. Lakes & Legends makes a cream ale, and it comes in a can. I've just opened that can, and now I'm going to drink it.
Clear, bright golden hue, slim white head.
In the nose: slight, sweet, a little malty, clean. Eh.
In the mouth: A little grainy, clean malt-y flavors. Slightly sweet, creamy, bordering on buttery, but not quite. Light bodied, minimal hops. Got nothing really to say about it but: not bad. Not for me, but if you're a cream ale guy or gal, go for it.

Appearance: Pours a clear, light, pale champagne color with a tame white, crispy head. SRM of 7-8. (4.00)
Aroma: Light aromas of sweet corn, malt liquor and honey. Some breadiness in the middle. Then traces of lemon and bread sweetness to finish. Lots of corn and malt liquor. (4.00)
Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with more flavors of corn, cream, malt liquor. Then some creamy noodles. Then some lemon and soapy suds in the middle before a malty finish. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Good carbonation. Great smooth finish with a mild, pleasant lingering sweetness. (4.00)
Compared to Dorothy's New World Lager: It pours a lighter color. Less bitter aroma. It has more of a malty and creamy noodle flavor. Less salty so it allows the sweetness to come through more. Slightly less bitterness.
Compared to Hop & Barrel's Minnesconsin 4/5/20: Pours a much lighter yellow color. Strong aromas of classic American corn and malt liquor. Much stronger flavors of corn, suds, and malt liquor on the flavor. Hoppier, but similar balance of sweet/dry.
Overall: This beer impressed me with the amount of corn. Nice smooth malty flavors of sweet corn, with hints of honey, bread, and lemon. Some light homemade creamy noodle flavor. Then a sudsy, yet delicate body to round it out. I would describe it as soapy, creamy noodles if you can imagine. Despite that, a fantastic beer here. (Final Rating: 4.05)

5-Weight pours a hazy golden color, with not much head. Weak aroma, but nice butter notes. Flavor is light and sweet, buttery and malty. Just a tad weak. Overall, lighter, but nice flavors.

I bought (2) 6-packs (which I rarely do), because I love Cream Ales.
Nose is grassy and slightly hoppy, taste has dry mouthfeel and slightly bitter. I prefer Castle Danger Cream Ale to this, but certainly not bad.
