Appearance: Pours a completely clear, medium, bright orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 10. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of rye bread, brown bread malt, Vienna malt. A slight grassy and dry toast note. (4.00)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of rye bread, brown bread, Vienna malt. Rye bread spice lingers off the end with a decent mount of spice and bitterness . Dry. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied, appropriate carbonation, finish is clean. A lingering spiciness on the palate. (4.00)
Compared to Lupulin Oktoberfest 9/23/22: Pours a brighter and lighter color, milder aromas. More rye spice, Vienna malt. Less toasty and grassy bread malt and spice. Dryer and cleaner.
Compared to Hinterland Oktoberfest 9/23/22: Pours brighter, stronger aromas. More rye spice and Vienna malt. Less smooth bread malt and sweetness. Dryer and cleaner and more spicy.
Compared to Ska Oktoberfest 10/2022:
Overall: This one drinks nice and much like a Rye or Vienna lager. Nice rye spice and Vienna malt flavors. Spicy and bitter off the end. yet while being clean and dry. Not too sweet and I really appreciate that. A nice change of pace from some of the sweeter American Marzens (Rating: 4.05)
*On my second review much more orange citrus and floral orange. Much hoppier, vague malts. Muted. Not as good as I remember. (Rating: 3.58)
