"This American Wild Ale showcases a bright acidity with underlying sweet and tart cherries."
I wanted to really like this beer. The base beer has a lot of complexity, and the rainier sour cherries want to shine and come through. Sadly, the beer was just overly tart, and that is saying a lot for what I can handle.... Even my wife who powers through sours was noticeably slow. We even took a tums afterwards which usually only come out after a multiple sour night....
This isn't to say it was a bad beer, but the acid is a far cry from bright, let's go with overpowering. It just could be such a nice beer, but as is, it lends itself better to being blended (ie Lambic style), or just more patience in the bottle/barrels to mellow a bit. I feel this one was rushed to market before it was ready. It's twin sibling nectarine - ish fairs a little better, being braced a bit from the sweetness of the nectarines to cut the acid a bit.
