Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt with loads of bourbon, oak and vanilla notes is quite enticing. Taste is a great mix of chocolate malt notes with some bourbon notes, oak and vanilla with some light residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. I had no expectation but this is a very solid BA imperial stout.

Serving: Can (insultingly, infuriatingly, explosively overfilled)
Canned: Oct-10-2018 (Consumed Nov-21-2019)
Pours ruby cola black, clear. Has a two-finger brown head that gassily evaporates to the suggestion of a skiff of surface bubbles. The aroma is sweet and licorice-laden, dried syrupy dark fruits, some oxidation, Huge, sticky sweet flavor. Brown sugar, vanilla, oxidation nuttiness, warming rum, molasses. Full body with moderate carbonation and a mouth-coating, shudder-inducing sugariness with a lingering alcohol warmth. This is an all right stout. Reading the review back it sounds amazing, however it was just too much for my delicate sensibilities. I'm guessing from the name this is what they were going for, but I don't think it worked. It is too over the top boozy and sticky for my bones, but I imagine there are people that would like it. The barrel character only strongly comes through with the vanillins. Otherwise it is just a sticky boozy stout. The aroma is definitely the highlight and the first sip isn't awful but as I settle into it it becomes cloying and boozy and a mess. Meh.

Thick body, but not at all cloying, pleasant warmth to the finish. Super smooth & drinkable. Pumpernickel, BS molasses, bourbon, licorice... The body, the flavour, the balance... perfection!
