(6.7%, 64 IBU) First brewed as an ode to Hole 1 of Maple Hill Disc Golf Course in Leicester, Pond Jumper was also debuted there during the 2016 Vibram Open. Disc golfers love their juicy IPAs and this one was brewed for them. Passionfruit, grapefruit, mango, orange, and pineapple are just a few juicy words that apply here. So whether you are trying to clear the pond with a huge bomb, or just jumping in the pond to cool down, let Pond Jumper refresh and invigorate you. Cheers!

This is my second beer from Flying Dreams Brewery.
First thing that I noticed about it...it has what I'd call a Flying Dreams signature look...a sort of hazy burnt orange color.
Poured wonderfully out of a 22 oz bottle into a flare.
I don't know....the website probably needs some work. I couldn't find much information on various beers, hop profiles, etc. Not that it matters, but I like to know what I'm getting into...and I like to research beers that I might be interested in buying.
Anyways, it's a little less soft and lush than some of the beers I've been drinking lately...but that's not a bad thing. Actually, it's a good thing. And, melon is the dominant flavor.
If I saw this on a draft list somewhere, I'd absolutely order it (especially if I was there to see an MMA fight). This ale kicks ass.
Don't believe me. Try it for yourself, and see.

The beer pours an opaque orange/gold color - not a "milkshake", just cloudy. The head is compact and fizzy, short-lived, some cling.
The aroma is heavy on the citrus fruits - healthy notes of grapefruit, tangerine plus something like peach or nectarine. Some melon as well. There are some faint berry notes as well, but not very strong or particularly identifiable, maybe strawberry. Underneath there is a sweet caramel malty smell. There is tart passionfruit and sweet pineapple going on in the aroma as the beer "opens up".
No doubt on the taste that this is a fruit forward beer. Huge citrus notes of grapefruit and tangerine, peach comes out more during consumption. There's a brief sharp hit of passionfruit, and there's a soft pineapple flavor. Not getting the vague berry taste I can smell. I would not say it is a true NEIpa "fruit bomb", but it is a nicely-blended melange of fruit flavors that is quite pleasant to drink. It is anchored by a respectable level of bitterness, and a moderate sweetness makes it just a bit "sticky". There is a little mild spicy note that lingers well into the aftertaste.
It does finish a little dry, but there is a palate reset thanks to the bitterness. The flavor "cleans up" rather than accumulating. A little stickiness, but not coating.
Overall I enjoyed drinking this beer. More than enough interesting flavors that somehow combine to provide a pleasant drinking experience, yet refreshing and relatively "light" - a lot of flavor without overloading the taste buds. Recommended.
