Picked this up at the brewery
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice crystal clear honey amber hue with a big two finger creamy head that even after sitting for ten minutes slumps down to a fat one finger blanket. Sticky side lacing galore as well.
S - Aromas of nice citrus rind and peel, little buddhas hand, tangerine, maybe even a little lime. Light malts, faint caramel, little bit of spicy hops as well. Pleasant.
T - Taste is similar to the nose. Nice citrus peel and juicy oranges. Little bit of spicy hops. The fainter caramel and malt sweetness plays off the citrus to give it a cooked jelly type of thing. That's not a bad thing. The lime zest is pleasant and cuts into the tangerine flavour nice. There is a fair amount of alcohol heat though. Boarders on harsh booziness. That alcohol burn pulls from the flavours some. Pleasant bitterness on the after taste.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, warming alcohol notes. The bitterness balances out the alcohol.
O - Overall this was a really promising DIPA. Great appearance but overall I think the booziness clashed with the nice citrusy/fruity hops which happened more and more as it warmed.

Bottled picked up yesterday at the brewery
Pours a mild fizzy head that fades quickly, sticky lacing stays for a long time, with some legs on the sides as well, semi clear nectar orange color,
Nose big burst of citrus, lots of orange rind, tangerine, a little grapefruit, hand of buddha, lots of fun citrus, a little wintergreen berry and bright citrus rind, sweet candy malt, a candied orange marmalade and generic citrus jelly, a little candied stone fruit apricot preserve, lots of jammy fruit.
Taste brings a little alcohol warmth with big sweet malts, a candy like caramel nougat malt profile, with cereal toasted dough grains, cracker, etc. That eventually gives way to the big citrus hops again, which again brings tons of jammy fruit and candied jelly fruits, orange marmalade, apricot preserves, peach jam, many different citrus rinds blended into a marmalade, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, hand of buddha, even a touch of a lime zest, and more startchy bitter berry like gooseberry or wintergreen berry thing. Finish is a little sweet sticky, more warming booze, lots of candied orange zest and stone fruit marmalade lingering.
Mouth is heavier fuller bod, creamy carbonation, some warming booze.
overall not bad, I think I liked it better with the little sample I had, the more I drink it the more sweet and boozy it gets, a little overbearing eventually, but lots of nice candied jammy fruit and citrus zest marmalade which is nice in small doses.
