The traditional Vienna Lager style originated in Austria, and then continued in Mexico after a short wave of Austrian occupation, in the late 1800s, brought with it an influx of European brewers. Smooth and drinkable, yet complex in its malt profile, this amber lager is a joy to drink on any occasion.
Ours has exactly 8 different kinds of malts, for a wonderful malt complexity, and a traditional Hallertauer noble hop presence, which helps dry out the finish and makes you want to come back for more. Although we are debuting Ocho Maltas on Cinco de Mayo, this amber brew is meant to be quaffed any time of year. Salud!

Amber to brown color. Clear. Decent head which leaves extensive streaks on the glass.
Mild aroma of caramel and even lighter neutral hop.
The flavor is more potent with the caramel malt start. It is reasonably dry. The body is slightly richer than expected with a moderate carbonation level. The bitterness level is also greater than the smell indicates. Short well balanced aftertaste. Very much a Red Amber in style.

Growler filled a few days ago
Light fizzy head fades quickly, clear amber slight auburn couple
Nose sweet lager malts, little toasty and caramely, touch grassy hop, soft lager faint fruity
Taste sweet lager malts again, toasty, little doughy straw, little caramel sweetness, reddish malt, juicy malt, soft lager, little grassy hop note and faint fruity lager. Finish dry crisp, some bitterness with grassy hop note and touch herbal.
Mouth little creamy, smooth lager softness, lighter but decent carb
Overall pretty nice, well done Vienna lager although maybe a bit sweeter than I expected, and less of the lager malt toasty straw flavors, but very well done lagering
