Can picked up yesterday, shared with rudzud
Pours a medium fluffy pillowy head with moderate retention, nice lacing, very clear chestnut slight auburn brown color
Nose brings mostly the base brown, toasted brown malts, a little biscuity toffee like, light fruity note, little sharp wood with some holiday spice notes, toasty and a little gourd like note
Taste brings more sweet brown malts, toffee, biscuity., toasted grain, a little fruity again with light bitterness increasing as it goes but never gets too high, combination of hops and bitterness from malts, a little fruity but thankfully no gourd like flavor, a bit of holiday spice like cinnamon bark or pumpkin spice or something that is likely coming from the sharp oak staves, some toasted raw oak or even cedar like
Mouth is med bod, creamy fluffy carb
Overall not bad, doesn't really seem to add much to the base beer and actually seems to detract from it, the weird gourd character on the nose, oak didn't help at all, unfortunately not that great

Thanks to JLindros for sharing a can of this beer.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear darker brown with a thick one finger off white head that fades slowly to leave light lacing and a thin blanket.
S - Aromas of lighter bready malts, little bit of nuttiness. Super, super light flashes of oak staves. Smells pretty much just like their base Stephanie Brown Ale. Light toffee notes as well. Almost vegative.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with lovely Brown Ale notes. Great toasty malts and flashes of sweeter malts. Nice pleasant lighter toffee, good slight nuttiness on the finish. The oak is super, super subtle though. Wish it was more oaky.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, creamy, nice finish.
O - Overall this was a solid Brown Ale. I just wish the oak came through as this mostly just drinks like the base Stephanie Brown Ale. That being said, it's still a decent beer.
