No can date
Pours a med frothy off-white 1 finger head with good retention, plenty of soapy lacing, semi clear dark chestnut color
Nose brings plenty of sweet toasted malts, reddish grainy caramelized malts, a bit of toffee and some caramel, toasted bread crust, fair sweet aroma, some reddish fruit esters, a little plum and fig, a bit of Medjool date as well, molasses
Taste starts semi sweet with the fruit up front, more Medjool date, a bit of fig and plum, back into sweet flavors but not that sweet, more caramelized Maillard sugars with toffee, molasses as well, a bit of smooth perfumey alcohol, some toasted bread crust, dark chewy bread crust, a little spicy hop bitterness but not much, slight sticky sweet finish but fairly dry, lingering caramelized sugars and fruit
Mouth is med to fuller bod, a touch syrupy like but not sweet and too sticky, very light warming alcohol, med foamy carb
Overall quite nice, not as rich and complex as most of the big German versions, but still a nice doppelbock nonetheless, especially the fruit forward characters, and sweet Maillard sugars without being overly fake caramel like, as expected from Flying Dreams
