330ml bottle from Minipreço supermarket, Porto (€1.55):
Dark copper & hazy with a fairly large foamy head that's off-white in colour. It's a malty nose with some caramel & sugars coming through. It's dry with some darker fruits, figs & raisin in there too. The taste is quite smooth & mellow, slightly tangy too with a lot of sugars & sweet malts, some caramel too. It's very much a pale ale for me, not enough bitterness for the red ale level but either way it's okay - smooth & medium bodied with lightish carbonation too.
