Poured from the crowler into a Libbey styled pilsner glass.
Really nice shiny copper brass and dark amber body. Excellent crystal clear body, with a creamy faint khaki to off white head. Foamy top but with a soapy bowled retention and topped puck. Settles to a good bubbly fine collar and nice top. Love this body appearance.
Aroma comes off a tad thick and syrupy. Slightly boozy caramel syrup quality with touches of faint toast character. A bit strong and comes off a bit more doppel like in quality but good.
Palate is quite large. Toasty mixes of thick caramel, a bit of syrupy tones certainly take away much of the crispness and expected crackle anticipated. Finishes strangely a bit earthy and neutral with much of the malt character disappearing.
This seems to come off as a heavier bock, but seems to be stuck between two styles with each ones unique character sort of being cancelled out. Drinkable and decent, but gets a bit of neutral rating for one it tastes like.
