Honey colored, golden body; thick, sticky, foamy white head. Funky citrus aroma; peppery. Relatively heavy sweetness; soft caramel; zesty bitterness. Heavy mouthfeel; coarse, zesty on the palate; mostly dry finish.
My research indicates Azacca hops should have a big tropical fruit quality, a quality, in my mind, suggests a delicately sweet quality. This beer has a strong hop bitterness but little in the way of light, succulent sweetness. There is a fair balance between the malt sweetness and hop bitterness, yet things strongly lean to a harsh, dry bitterness overall. Not bad yet not exactly something to look forward to for a tropical fruit sort of hop experience.
