Cloudy, amber colored body; thick, sticky, white head. Spicy hop aroma; resinous and piney; caramel malts. Bitter, alcohol-heavy taste with a syrupy sweetness. Heavy body with a fizzy, coarse feel on the palate.
Local Relic usually does an excellent job with high ABV beers. This one just doesn't offer much other than a heavy alcohol taste and flavor backed with a heavy-handed malt sweetness. There is little refinement or depth to this beer. It comes at you with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Drinkable but forgettable.
