This is a subscription only beer. Per the label: Porter brewed with maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee from Building Three Coffee Roasters.
Deep, opaque brown body topped with a thick, creamy, tan hued head. Roasted grain and coffee notes in the aroma; mild hint of vanilla. Excellent sweet taste prominently presenting maple and vanilla; chocolate notes; a nifty, almost smokey bitterness lurks in the background; coffee ground bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and lush on the palate.
I've said it before and will say it again, Local Relic makes some awesome dark beers. This one is no exception. It delivers well-blended porter qualities and gently infuses well-balanced elements of maple sugar and vanilla sweetness while the coffee adds a nice, bitter counterpoint. Again, it's too bad this has only limited availability and probably won't be brewed again, but that's the way it goes...
