Hazy, honey colored body topped with a soapy, sculpted, sticky head. Rich caramel scent; traces of coffee. The taste mirrors aspects of the aroma only stronger; more pronounced coffee flavors; bitter quality. Medium body; somewhat watery.
The bottle label suggested this beer be enjoyed by September, so I'm a bit behind the power curve. Still, the richness of the Marris Otter and honey malts plus the coffee presence are nicely balanced. For an 8.0% ABV, the alcohol stays well-hidden, allowing for the malts and coffee elements to do their thing. A nice effort...
