Chardonnay Wild
Local Relic

Dirty, turbid dull orange body; barely any head, initially pours big, soapy bubbles that fade within a few seconds. White grape aroma; dry, woody scent. The taste follows along the same lines as the aroma; some mild brett tones; bitter on the back-end. Heavy body, smooth flat and smooth on the palate; dry, almost powdery; some alcohol warmth.

This beer was included in LRs October 2016 subscription-only release. It okay overall and hides the high ABV pretty well. The chardonnay must and Nelson Sauvin hops do a fair job of bringing out a dry, white wine quality to things. That said, the overall impression doesn't bring about any "wow" factor. The brettanomyces lambicus yeast, while noticeable, is really tame (perhaps a good thing, but then again...). Interesting for a one-shot deal...
