I nicked this one out of the Old Man's fridge in March 2026 and drank it in May that year.
L: A slightly hazy, straw-gold in the glass, with a fluffy, bright white head that maintains a decent covering throughout. Lots of large bubbles hurry up the glass.
S: The nose is grainy malt and a slight touch of yeast, a toned-down version of the old-style Australian draught beer of my youth. I can't detect any hop presence.
T: In Australia, a beer styled as a draught beer will generally be chasing the everyman market, and so a sweet, slightly malty, hop-lite beer is generally served up. This one ticks all of those boxes. It is probably more correctly labelled a Kolsch, but Kolsch doesn't sell in Australia. But as a beer with the word "Draft" (yes, they misspelled it - deliberately!) on the can, it doesn't have the aggressive pub notes of the old-style draught beers, with that slightly sour, slightly yeasty, overly sweet yet sharply malty profile they had (it has all of those things, just in a more refined package), and so comes across as a far more approachable, drinkable and sessionable beer. If I drink a six-pack of something like a Carlton Draught, I know a hangover looms. I am struck with the impression that any such outcome from this beer would be far softer and far more bearable.
M: The lightly carbonated, full mouthfeel of this beer suits the beer to a tee.
O: This is a very drinkable, very approachable, canned craft draught beer.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
