12 Gates Brewing Company

This was an Ok spot, probably they have improved their beers. Lots of places to have average beer in Buffalo, and it depends on the vibe you fancy, or the neighbourhood.

 

 

 

 

 

Nestled away in a business park, 12 Gates can be a little tricky to find. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside the inside is clean and inviting. The owners/staff have done a great job creating a modern space with some cool details. The staff was very attentive and friendly. There were four house brews on tap along with one guest tap. This may have expanded since I was there, as my visit was during their soft open. They offered limited food options, but hey I didn't go for the food anyway. 12 Gates is definitely worth a stop if you're touring the Buffalo beer scene or if you are just looking to hang out and grab a brew.

Hard to find small place. Decent inside with a bunch of tables outside where we sat. Beer selection was pretty good with lighter styles, IPA's and a dark beer. Bartender seemed to pay a large amount to her regulars and not any attention to us as we tried to order drinks and food. Seemed like a place full of regulars which is fine, but as a younger looking guy it was a different vibe than most breweries I have visited. Will be back to check it out again. If sitting outside expect to have some planes flying over as its directly in line for the Buffalo Niagara Airport.

 

Small but vibrant tasting room. Good start for a new brewery. I am very happy I can ride my bike to a brewery.
