Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass. For Lemy Batch 07
Big foamy and rich light tan head. Fist fall tall with a styrofoam like appearance, and small swiss cheese like bubbles. Settles to a full finger puck, laying on a dark mahogany brown to red body.
Light chocolate, and excellent deep roasted malts on the nose. Creamy slightly and almost nutty smelling with the chocolate angle. Muted sense of hop, but some slight soft pine and mild bitterness. Solid aroma.
Palate goes for the basics. Soft and simple malt bodied, but with a bit of creamy and excellent mouth coating properties. Rich cream and light roast with tinges of milky chocolate in the mid palate. Soft bitterness on the finish. Slight tinges of wood flavors, a bit of cocoa as well that comes out a bit warm, with mellow hop bitterness.
A solid porter which sticks to the basics, and a muted hop kick. Very nice.
