Russian Imperial Stout aged on Tahitian vanilla beans and local espresso coffee beans from Penny Cup roasters.
Continuing on with our series of devilish stouts dedicated to people who have sold their souls. This one starts its life as a beautiful historical recreation of a Russian Imperial Stout (circa 1850) and is gently elevated with quality ingredients. Never any extracts or “natural” flavorings.

Pours a dark brown almost black with a thumb sized dark tan head that falls to a ring with some lacing.
Aroma is roasted malts, good coffee and vanilla notes not surprising considering coffee and vanilla beans are added. Nice sweet nose almost lactose like even though that wasn't added, almost like a creamy vanilla latte. Can pick up some hop in the nose but hard to tell exactly what the are kind of earthy herbal like over the creamy sweetness.
Taste is like the nose nice roasted malts good coffee bean and vanilla mingled though out, nice smooth sweet stout that is blended well. Nothing over the top but very solid and enjoyable for me. Finish is keep from being cloying by hops that are lightly spicy and earthy.
Mouthfeel is solid a big medium with nice mellow carbonation, just enough to bring the flavors forward.
Overall an enjoyable stout that I wouldn't mind having again.
