We took half of our Ameuze blend of select 1,2 and 3 year old barrel aged sour beer and aged it for 3 months on sour cherries. The beer was fermented 100% coolship sourced culture from the Asheville air and bottle conditioned with wine yeast.

Got talked into buying this by the owner of a bottle shop in Asheville. Glad I did! I’m a sucker for cherries in sour beers and this one has them in abundance. Can’t wait to try more Zebulon.

Appearance: Pours a clear cherry juice color with a frothy mauve head that fritters away; not much lacing action at all

Smell: Funky, with tart cherry tones

Taste: Tart from the get go with the cherries sour and funky; the flavors build to a puckery crescendo

Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation

Overall: Really funky for those who like their sours both sour and funky
