A strong dark ale fermented 100% in oak barrels with Brettanomyces for 18 months. Aromas of port wine, chocolate cherry cordials, a hint of leathery funk and complex oak. Just a hint of tartness, dark fruit, hint of licorice.

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a one finger ecru head; spotty lacing
Smell: Port wine, licorice, chocolate, spice cake and leather
Taste: Chocolate covered cherries, licorice and spice cake forward with the Port wine emerging; funky and leathery, through the middle, with a tart fruity finish and some dry oak lingering
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: A twist on the Christmas beer concept - quite interesting
