Brewed with the finest English Maris Otter, brown and black malts and traditional East Kent Goldings hops. This is what Imperial Stout tasted like when it was still being sent to Russia in the mid 1800s.

Picked up a 500ml bottle 5-26-22 from the Appalachian Vintner in Asheville for $12.99. No bottling date; consumed 7-3-22.
Beer poured black as night with a very nice long lasting tan head.
Nose is very nice, roasted malts forward and English hops prevalent as well.
Taste is near perfection, huge roasted malt base that is hopped by a boatload of English hops with subtle flavors of dark chocolate and coffee present. Finishes very bitter; 9/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and very smooth.
Overall Mike Karnowski the brewer nailed the flavor profile down very well. This is a true Imperial Export Stout that could last for a long time in the old days!

Appearance: Pours ebony colored with a one finger beige head; leggy with a splattering of lace
Smell: Roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee tones
Taste: Roasted malt and black bread flavors forward with dark chocolate building; woodsy bitterness, through the middle, with espresso in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: Rich and bitter with some balancing sweetness
