We start with a lovely traditional British style barleywine and let it rest in Wild Turkey and George Dickel whiskey barrels. Delicate notes of coconut and vanilla from the wood adds to the decadence. Aging potential of at least 5 years. Ingredients: English Maris Otter malt, crystal wheat, East Kent Goldings hops.

The base beer comes across almost potpourri like to me, dried fruit sans sugar, pear and plum mostly, plus apple pie spice, cinnamon most prominently. The barrels are doing good work here. I get light vanilla, plenty of stinging whiskey, and some wood to go along with some leafy hops at the end. This all comes together really well and I'm glad to have tried it. Thanks Tom!
Edit: as it warms a nice chocolate covered cherry note emerges.

Picked up a pint bottle from the Appalachian Vintner in Asheville 5-26-22 for $15.99.
Beer poured reddish brown with a smaller off-white head.
Nose is very nice, dark fruits, whiskey, and vanilla are present.
Taste follows the nose with the substantial malt base that emits dark fruit notes. Barrel aging lends a whiskey forward slant with notes of vanilla. Finishes very balanced.
Mouthfeel is medium to large bodied and smooth. Noticeable lack of carbonation, almost flat.
Overall not having the base beer not sure how much of an improvement there is with the barrel aging. But very tasty nonetheless!
