Appeareance: Pours out a clear mahogany color with a three finger khaki head forming after the bubble show; good persistence and splotches of lace
Smell: Leathery funk and roasted malt; hints of molasses and coffee with a wallop of resiny hop
Taste: Funk and roast forward with the resiny hops quickly emerging; hints of molasses, coffee and dark fruit, after the swallow; resiny hop flavors linger on the palate through the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: What a difference doubling the hops and dry hopping makes in contrast to the 1820 London Porter; it would have paid to be an officer back in the day

Oh how I wish I could buy more of this beer. A very funky, very highly hopped porter - more like the grand black IPAs you could get a few years back.
Third in the boxed set of vintage porters purchased over the Christmas holiday. Poured from a bottle into a a Tardis Society tuka Glass. Rich dark brown color with beautiful beige head and great curtain lacing. Funky dark roasted malt smell and taste. Also a citrus background in the smell and taste. Strong coffee and dark fruit. Chocolate oranges. Oh this is great!
