Appearance: Pours espresso colored with the bubble show creating an overflowing head; strong persistence (in a rocky fashion) with a few shards
Smell: Chocolate and caramel with a roasty edge; hints of dark fruit underneath
Taste: Chocolate and caramel forward with some roast and dark fruit developing; the finish is a nice blend of the various elements
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied but overcarbonated
Overall: The mouthfeel here is not great but I am enjoying the flavor profile

This is the fourth bottle in the historic porter box set purchased this past Christmas,
Poured in the provided teku glass. Clear dark brown color with nice beige effervescent head and good curtain lacing. Roasted malt smell and taste. Also smell and taste of dark raisins and other dark fruit. Toffee notes. This is a tasty and satisfying beer.
