Nick & Keith go way back & they’ve always kept it simple. They set out to open Olde Mother Brewing with the same simplicity in mind; brew good beer, make good friends, and convince a community to join them in their journey to build a beer brand.
Home brewing was a passion for them for many years and after the duo reunited after 17 years, the business plan for Olde Mother Brewing began. Almost 3 years later, a grass roots brand was born and it’s been a helluva ride so far. We are proud to offer you the finest craft beer in Frederick and stand behind our beer & brand.
When visiting our brewery, you can expect many typical craft beers but be prepared for a few twists and unique flavor profiles; Keith & Nick do not shy away from experimenting with unique flavor combinations.
We could not have come this far without all the love & support from our family & the friends who have become family! Thank you all so much. Follow us here to get the latest and greatest on our progress including an opening date for the new location! Cheers from Olde Mother!

Long narrow interior in a historic part of downtown. Street parking, with some areas having meters. Extended front section with big windows. Patterned LED lighting along the black, lower ceiling, some exposed brick walls, and a concrete floor. Long bar with an angled ordering station. Front lounge area and other seating at low tables. Up a few steps is a back room with a view through windows of the brewing equipment. To one side is an alley patio. About twenty taps with a good selection of styles. Cooler has cans to go. Back area has the Fifty/Fifty kitchen with smash burgers. TVs for viewing sports. Attentive and helpful staff. Hip and modern vibe in a historic downtown.

Eclectic atmosphere brewery in downtown Frederick MD, with a ton of indoor table and bar seating, a stage for live bands, good food kitchen, and hip vibe. About 20 beers on tap, decent selection, decent quality.

V- The vibe in here is very cool and for adults. I cant stress enough how much I appreciate a bar vibe that kind of discourages people from bringing their kids to a drinking establishment. The back area is very cool and industrial and showcases the brewing equipment. plus fifty-fifty is a burger joint in the back with great food.
Q- Best IPAs in Frederick County hands down.
S- Self service for everything. cant complain. Bartenders are fast and friendly.
S- A very large selection AND they have cocktailes for non-beer drinkers, which is great.

Fun, sort 2000s emo vibe. Good beers and a decent selection. Service was satisfactory. Have to order food separately from drinks, which kinda sucks. Seems like it would be a fun place to hang out if you lived in the area.

The new location on Market Street is excellent. Great seating options, food all, darts, sports on a TV in the rear, and just all around great setup of a taproom. Beers are solid as well.

Ever been somewhere and felt that in a year this place won't be here. This was one. Dumpy storefront in a area of Frederick that is primarily blue collar industrial shops. Notthing wrong with that but the taproom doesn't play to that vibe or any other for that matter. It's like mediocre BBQ joint decor meets beer without the BBQ. Staff were awkwardly nice and attentive, probably the biggest plus the place had going. No food, a nice dog running around the joint, and each beer I had was below mediocre. All three tasted old, stale and cardboard like and overly bitter and not in a good way. At least the Maple Roasted Stout had a maple undertone, but the bitters lingered for nearly an hour.
Won't be back.

So as a Frederick native I was extremely excited when Olde Mother opened up. The more local breweries and brewpubs the better! But when I first tried it on their opening day...I was less than impressed. Only their Maple Stout was anything remarkable and being a lover of hops there was little to offer.
Fast forward two months and the beer had shown some improvement but the ever rotating taps had me frustrated. Once I found a beer that I liked I would return and find that it had been replaced with another one which was mediocre at best.
Fast forward 6-10 months and they started to bring back some of the more well designed beers. The decor had come a long way and you could tell that the owners were finding their niche in the Frederick beer world.
Now, an entire year later I am a proud owner of a limited edition 1 Year Anniversary mug. Olde Mother has not only continually improved their craft but within a year produced some of the better IPAs in the area. Their 86 IPA and Little DIPA are fantastic. Try this place out. It will grow on you and then you won't want to leave.
