Finally got a chance to try this stout.
L: Pitch black pour, with a nice cinnamon head. Not much head retention, and lacing was lacking, but still nice looking.
S: Coffee, of course. Definitely a darker roast, but still very good. A doughy aroma helps ground the coffee.
T: Delicious. Coffee comes right through, with the yeast lending a nice touch of acidity to lighten the flavor. Hint of bread, perhaps rye, can be detected. Nice bitterness from the coffee plays well with the roasted flavors of the malt.
M: The body is very nice and luscious, despite being lower on the ABV spectrum as far as Imperial stouts are concerned. Low carbonation helps this beer feel heavier others in its range.
O: Likely the best beer I've had from this brewery, though I am biased in favor of stouts. All the flavor, texture, and aroma of a hefty Imperial Stout without a ridiculous ABV, meaning I can have plenty more.
