Looks and smells ok.
This tastes like an Oktoberfest IPA. It’s the worst attempt at a Marzen that I’ve ever had. The bitterness is bracing, I used to be into IPA’s so I’m not afraid of some IBU’s but for this style they should be somewhere between 15 and 25, probably 17-18 would be perfect.
I’m not sure what the IBU’s are for this, but I’d guess they’re pushing 50-60. I don’t understand why they call it a festbier either. It has 6.3% abv, isn’t festbier supposed to be sessionable? Everything about this beer is off. I like most of their other offerings and was really hoping they’d adjusted their recipe from last year. I guess I’ll use the other 5 to cook some brats in.
