Aybara is named for Perrin Aybara, a blacksmith from humble beginnings, who was elevated to the level of leader. After a day at the forge, we figure someone is looking for a more robust, creamy, roasty type of beer, and an imperial oatmeal stout is just that. Smooth due to the oats, the roast and chocolate notes sit for the pallet to not be overbearing but delicious. At 8.7% ABV, it will be a warming beverage, but won't completely cloud your vision after one go.

This is at least a 3.9. Not sure why it’s classified as an oatmeal stout. It’s on the bitter and strong side for that. I don’t think the booze overpowers anything. That dude needs to drink more. Otherwise I agree with his adjectives for this beer. It’s a very pleasant stout without being a 12% puncher or 4% granddad.

Almost black, minimal brown head.
Smells boozy, coffee, raisins, burnt sugar.
Tastes sweet, burnt coffee, dark chocolate, raisin, alcohol.
It has a medium mouthfeel.
It’s good but nothing exceptional, the booziness kind of overpowers everything else. It’s still good but not great.
