Barrel aged foreign export stout. Love the base beer malts of leather and dark chocolate. Those flavors almost get melded into a really pleasant warmth along with the spirits. I always enjoy lower alcohol stouts that get kissed with barrel aging. Once again, we’ll executed beer from castle island.

Draft. Poured very dark. Haven't had an export stout in quite a while so this was a welcome change. The barrel character wasn't heavy but it did add a certain nuance to the aroma and flavor. Body wavered between too light and just right. Pretty fun.

L - Black body with two fingers of almond head
S - Complex. Oak, whiskey, tobacco, char, coffee, black licorice
T - Whiskey first and foremost, but with no alcohol sting. Follows the nose with the big barrel characters.
F - Full. Not too thick, but good.
O - Great whiskey stout with tons of barrel character and is just a smooth experience overall.
